About ExtraDigital

Kent, United Kingdom

Established 2002

One UK team, all in-house

A digital marketing agency that understands websites and user experience

Paid media, SEO and AI search, analytics and CRO are the core of what we do. Our designers and developers sit in the same team, so we can fix the page, the journey and the tracking a campaign depends on – not just the campaign.

Since 2002

Digital has changed considerably since 2002. So have we.

Every shift closed off tactics that used to work. What clients buy has not changed: customers, at a cost that leaves a profit. Judging each new platform against that is how we have kept some clients for two decades.

  1. 2002– 2007

    The early growth of search

Websites, early SEO and the first generation of Google Ads accounts, when most businesses were still deciding whether search mattered.

  2. 2008– 2013

    Ecommerce and social

Our first ecommerce builds, the rise of social media, and marketing that had to work on a phone as well as a desktop.

  3. 2014– 2019

    Platforms and automation

Shopify and WordPress at scale, marketing automation, CRM integration and analytics that connected spend to sales.

  4. 2020– today

    Data and AI

GA4 and server-side tracking, privacy changes, automated bidding, and visibility inside AI assistants and answer engines.

Marketing, technology and data

Performance problems are rarely in the channel where they show up

Our marketers, developers and analysts are in the same team, so we trace a problem to its real cause and fix that – without a three-way conversation between suppliers.

Where it shows up

A PPC problem

Where it usually is

Often a landing page problem

If the click is right and the page is not, more budget only buys more wasted clicks. We can fix the page as well as the campaign.

Fixed in-house by Designers and developers

Website design and UX

Often the highest-return work on an account is a shorter form, a clearer product page or a checkout step removed – not another few thousand a month in media.

All in-house

Marketing first, with the website skills to back it up

An advert only performs as well as the page behind it, and neither can be judged without tracking that survives contact with a CRM. Splitting that across three suppliers is where most of the wasted budget comes from.

Measurement

How we judge success

Impressions, clicks, sessions and rankings tell us whether the mechanics are working. They do not tell us whether the marketing is worth doing.

Wherever the data allows, we follow the enquiry or order through to what it was actually worth – which usually changes where the budget goes.

How we set up analytics and tracking

Not the goal

ImpressionsClicksSessionsRankings

What we report on

  • Lead quality, not just lead volume
  • Conversion rate through the full journey
  • Revenue and return on advertising spend
  • Customer acquisition cost by channel
  • Pipeline and what actually closes
  • Commercial value over the customer's lifetime

How we work

Run by specialists, not account handlers

Accounts are run by paid media managers, SEO and AI search specialists, designers and developers, analysts and CRO people, and native speakers for the languages we market in. Everyone is UK-based and in-house, so whoever plans the work also delivers it and reports on it.

The ExtraDigital team
  1. 01

    Understand the business first

Before channels or budgets, we look at what you sell, who buys it, what a customer is worth and where the current process breaks down.

  2. 02

    Agree what success means

Qualified enquiries, sales, revenue, ROAS or cost per acquisition are defined up front, so performance is not argued about later.

  3. 03

    Track the right things

Tracking, attribution and reporting are set up properly before we judge anything.

  4. 04

    Challenge the assumptions

When the data disagrees with the plan, we say so – including advising against work that is unlikely to produce a worthwhile return.

  5. 05

    Adapt as things change

Platforms, competitors and customer behaviour move. We reallocate effort rather than repeating last year's plan.

International

International and multilingual marketing

Translating adverts and pages is where international campaigns usually go wrong. People search using different words, the competition is not the same, and what persuades in one market can read badly in another.

So keyword research, copy, landing pages and measurement are built per market, with native in-house speakers for key languages.

Long-term

Long-term relationships, not short campaigns

Once we know a client's margins, seasonality, sales cycle and which enquiries their sales team actually wants, the decisions get noticeably better. There are usually quick improvements in the first few months; the more valuable part comes later, when the plan is built on years of your own performance data.

Frequently asked questions

When was ExtraDigital established?

ExtraDigital was founded in 2002 and has worked in digital marketing and web development continuously since then.

Where is ExtraDigital based?

Our team is based in Kent in the UK. We work with clients across the UK and internationally, and campaigns have been delivered in more than 20 countries.

Do you outsource or offshore the work?

No. Strategy, paid media, SEO, design, development and analytics are delivered by our own UK-based team.

Do we have to use you for everything?

No. Plenty of clients start with one area – paid search, SEO, a website or a tracking rebuild – and widen the brief once the results justify it.

What size of client do you work with?

We work with established UK and international organisations, from single-market businesses to companies running campaigns across several countries and languages.

Do you only do marketing, or can you change our website too?

Both. Our designers and developers are in the same team, so landing pages, templates, UX changes and tracking can be built as part of the campaign work rather than raised with a separate supplier.

What accreditations do you hold?

ExtraDigital is a Google Premier Partner and Microsoft Advertising Partner, and is certified to ISO 9001 and Cyber Essentials.

Can you handle multilingual marketing?

Yes. We have delivered digital work in over 15 languages, from Arabic and Chinese to German and Japanese, with native in-house speakers for key languages.
