Arabic marketing & websites

Arabic websites and campaigns built right to left, not reversed at the end

ExtraDigital has designed, built and marketed in Arabic for many years, with native Arabic speakers in-house. It is one of the most technically demanding languages to get right, and one of the easiest to get visibly wrong.

  • Right-to-left design and development
  • Native-speaker copy and ad writing
  • Arabic SEO, paid search and social

Language and layout

Working in Arabic

Arabic exposes every shortcut. The layout reverses, mixed Arabic and Latin content behaves awkwardly, numerals and dates need decisions, and typography that looks fine in English becomes hard to read at the same sizes. A translated template usually announces itself within seconds.

The marketing side has its own traps. Search behaviour varies between Gulf markets, English terms are often used alongside Arabic in the same query, and dialect and transliteration mean one product can be searched for several ways.

Search and ads

Search and paid media in Arabic

Our in-house Arabic team researches keywords natively, including dialect, formal Arabic and English variants, rather than translating a UK keyword list. That research drives both organic content and Google Ads campaigns, so the two channels support each other.

As a Google Premier Partner we manage Arabic paid search to lead quality and cost per acquisition. Alongside SEO and PPC, we help brands prepare for AI-led discovery in Arabic, where entity clarity and well-structured Arabic content matter.

Arabic search ads that Saudi buyers respond to

Al Khaleejion, the leading kitchen supplier in Saudi Arabia, asked us to take over and improve its paid search. Our in-house PPC team ran the account in Arabic with native speakers, from research to ongoing optimisation. In the first month, over a quarter of a million users reached the website through paid advertising alone.

Websites

Arabic websites designed for a different culture

We have designed and developed Arabic websites since 2002, including an Arabic website for The British Museum and the launch of Doctoori, an Arabic healthcare provider. Mobile-first builds matter here: smartphone use is heavy across the region.

Font choice, iconography, imagery and calls to action are all reviewed for an Arab audience, and platforms are chosen for how well they handle Arabic, not simply because the English site uses them. Arabic eCommerce, booking systems and payment integrations are built by the same team.

How we work

How we approach an Arabic market

  1. 01

    Research per country

Demand, competitors and terminology for each target country, not the region as one audience.

  2. 02

    Plan pages and campaigns together

Landing pages, site structure and paid activity scoped as one piece of work.

  3. 03

    Write natively

Copy, ads and content written or reviewed by native Arabic speakers.

  4. 04

Report the market on its own

Separate cost per lead, conversion and revenue so the market stands on its own numbers.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Is an Arabic site just a translated version of the English one?

No. The layout mirrors: navigation, forms, tables, icons and imagery all move, and anything numeric or mixed-script has to be handled deliberately. We design for that from the start rather than flipping a finished template.

Which Arabic do you write in?

Modern Standard Arabic for most commercial content, with dialect considered where a campaign targets a specific country. Copy is written or reviewed by native speakers.

Which markets do you usually cover?

Gulf markets are the most common request from UK businesses. We research demand per country rather than treating the region as one audience.

Can you run Arabic paid search as well as build the site?

Yes. Campaigns, keyword sets and negatives are built in Arabic, and landing pages are produced by the same team.
